Hi beauties! Sorry for the lack of updates this week. I've been super busy and tired out after work so I've been slacking a little bit, but I'm back with some Tarte newness! Today I wanted to share one of their new Beauty & The Box quads. There are three of these quads available currently and the one I have for you today is called Brewed Awakening.
I have been on a big neutrals kick lately so this quad has been right up my alley.
The shades left to right are:
- Foam- creamy chai
- Raw Sugar- shimmering beige
- Espresso- cinnamon
- Roast- deep chocolate
|Foam, Raw Sugar, Cinnamon, Espresso|
The reason why I ignored this great little quad at first is because of the swatches. I don't think it swatches very well, but it preforms so much better on the lid, trust me! I've created some gorgeous looks with this set and think that the colors all work well together. Roast does remain a little bit on the sheer side but it's completely buildable and still not a bad shade. I actually like that it's a little sheer because I get really intimidated when it comes to using darker shades but with this one I don't have to worry so much about making myself looked bruised- that's never a good look!
Of course we need to talk about the packaging. I have a soft spot for nice packaging and Tarte products always deliver in this category. This quad is a nice size- not too big and not too small- it can fit easily in the palm of my hand. Even though it has a flip-top style lid it's definitely travel friendly. The lid feels secure and doesn't seem to be something that could easily open while tumbling around in your bag. I also love the colorful design on the product; I just love when pretty things come in pretty packages, what girl doesn't?
All in all, I can see myself getting a lot of use out of this especially in the fast approaching fall months. You can create many different looks from these four different shades. I think this would be perfect if it had a fifth shade- a sparkly highlight is all this needs to be a complete look. Some people would probably prefer the matte shade (foam) as a highlight but I'm a shimmer girl all the way when it comes to the highlight department.
